Asante Kotoko is on the verge of signing left-back Patrick Asiedu from Berekum Chelsea, with an agreement reached between the two clubs.
Asiedu’s impressive performances in the Ghana Premier League have attracted the attention of Dr. Prosper Ogum and his coaching staff at Kotoko.
Ogum is keen on bringing Asiedu to Kumasi to provide competition for Sudan’s Esmat Abdulhamid for the left-back position in the upcoming season.
While the deal is not yet official, pending a medical examination and finalizing personal terms, it is progressing well and appears to be inevitable.
Asiedu is expected to reach an agreement on personal terms with Asante Kotoko and could make the move to Kumasi in the near future. If the deal is completed, the 21-year-old is anticipated to sign a three-year contract with Kotoko.
Having made 23 appearances for Berekum Chelsea last season and contributing with an assist, Asiedu’s potential addition to Asante Kotoko’s squad would bolster their defensive options for the upcoming campaign.
