Ghanaian goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi has accused his club, Hearts of Oak, of neglect following his 11-month injury but remains hopeful that the necessary action will be taken soon.
Antwi, who requires surgery for his injury, expressed his frustration with the club’s delay in approving the procedure during an interview on Medeama FM.
Despite the setback, Antwi remains confident that Hearts of Oak will eventually provide the support needed for his recovery.
“I got injured 11 months ago and the doctor advised me to undergo surgery so I’m still waiting for Hearts of Oak to do the needful,” he said on Medeama FM.
He clarified that he still has a contract with the club, despite rumors of his departure.
“I’m still under contract with Hearts of Oak, so I believe they will do what is right and help me get the surgery I need,” he said.
Antwi, who joined Hearts of Oak from Legon Cities in August 2022, has struggled with injuries and has only made eight league appearances for the club. His absence last season due to injury contributed to the team’s goalkeeping challenges and near relegation scare.
Despite the challenges, Antwi believes that the club will step in to assist him in his recovery process.
