Asante Kotoko Sporting Club have announced the signing of top Guinean goalkeeper Mohammed Camara for the upcoming season.
As confirmed, the 24-year-old goalie has signed a two-year deal with the Porcupine Warriors from Soar Academy . His acquisition marks the club’s 10th signing of the current transfer window.
Camara, who made an impressive 26 appearances last season for Soar Academy, brings both talent and experience to the current squad of the GPL record holders.
Head Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum expressed his excitement over the new addition to the squad: “Mohammed Camara is an outstanding goalkeeper with incredible talent. His agility, quick reflexes, and ability to command his area make him a perfect fit for our team. He comes highly recommended, and we are confident he will be a great asset to our club.”
Camara shared that he spoke to his former club captain, Amos Frimpong before making the decision to join Asante Kotoko. “ Amos had a lot of very good things to say about the club; the supporters, the supportive environment, and the ambition to achieve success. This convinced me that Asante Kotoko is the right place for me to continue my career,” Camara said.
Coach Ogum added, “Having him speak so positively about our club is a testament to the strong culture and unity we have here. We are happy and we believe with him, Frederick (Asare) and Fatao we have a very solid goalkeeping group.”
