Former Hearts of Oak midfielder Glid Otanga scored his maiden goal for Al Kharaitiyat in their 2-1 preseason victory over Al Waab on Thursday.
The match was part of Al Kharaitiyat’s preparation for the upcoming 2024-2025 season, during which the team aims to achieve promotion to the first division.
The Congolese midfielder, who joined the club from Hearts of Oak a few days ago, opened the scoring. Mauritanian attacker Idrissa Thiam added the second for Al Kharaitiyat, while Ahmed Askar scored a consolation goal for Al Waab from the penalty spot.
Al Kharaitiyat will play two more friendly matches in the coming days before traveling to Turkey for a preparatory camp from August 13th to 29th.
During this camp, the team will also play three friendly matches, allowing the technical staff to assess the players’ levels before returning to Doha.
