Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Maxwell Boateng De Kort has divulged that he will opt to play for the Ghana over the Netherlands.
The centreback speaking in an interview on Kessben TV, the 19-year-old was quick to retort that he had always dreamt of playing for Ghana when the question was posed to him choose between Ghana and the Netherlands.
Boateng who currently plays for Petro Eis in Belgium noted that though he has been playing in Europe, has been following football events in Ghana due to his lineage as Ghanaian.
“I’m in the process to get a dual citizenship so for the passport, I am not playing for any country and I hope to play for Ghana national team Under 20 because that’s my age”
“I would like to play for Ghana and I am sure about that because I’ve been watching Ghana over the years in good and bad times, I like and I will also choose them,” he ended.
The physically built central defender was born to a Ghanaian father and a Dutch mother but us eligible to play for Belgium as well.
