Ghana Premier League champions FC Samartex have progressed to the second round of the CAF Champions League preliminary stage following a 2-0 aggregate victory over Cameroonian side Victoria United.
The Ghanaian team secured a 1-0 win in the first leg played in Cameroon last weekend. They then hosted the second leg at the Accra Sports Stadium, where they continued their solid performance.
In a game marked by numerous opportunities, a single goal from Isaac Afful in the 8th minute of the first half was enough to secure a 1-0 victory in the second leg, sealing the aggregate win.
FC Samartex’s advancement to the next round means they will face Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca in the upcoming playoff stage.
