Dreams FC, a Ghana Premier League club, has officially announced the signing of Richmond Ayi, a highly-rated 27-year-old goalkeeper, ahead of the 2024/25 season.
Ayi has signed a two-year contract after successfully completing all mandatory medical examinations earlier this afternoon.
Ayi, who last played for Hearts of Oak, saw his contract with the club terminated after the previous season. He has been out of competitive football since January of this year. Dreams FC confirmed the move by posting a picture of Ayi undergoing his medicals on social media and have now unveiled him as a free transfer acquisition.
A former Black Meteors goalkeeper, Ayi joined Hearts of Oak after the 2017/18 season as a free agent, following stints with Techiman City FC and WAFA.
He was instrumental in helping Hearts of Oak secure two FA Cup titles in two years, particularly the last one against Bechem United in Kumasi. He was also a key member of their treble-winning squad in 2021.
