Ghana Black Stars head coach Otto Addo,and other technical team members John Paintsil and Fatawu Dauda were involved in a car accident when returning from Tarkwa- Takoradi Road after watching the Champion of Champions clash between Nsoatreman FC and Samartex 1996.
Remarkably, none of the passengers, including the three coaches and the driver, sustained any serious injuries. However, as a precaution, they have all taken to a hospital in Takoradi for further medical checks before continuing their journey to Accra.
This incident comes just days before the Black Stars are scheduled to begin their training camp in Accra on Monday, ahead of their crucial 2025 AFCON qualifier against Angola in Kumasi. The football community is relieved that the coaches are unharmed and can proceed with preparations for the upcoming match.
The GFA has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident, but the focus remains on ensuring the safety and well-being of the coaching staff as they gear up for the important fixture ahead.
