Vision FC coach Nana Kwaku Agyemang has commended Asante Kotoko for their performance in a recent preseason friendly, highlighting the Porcupine Warriors’ disciplined approach ahead of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League campaign.
In their friendly match on Sunday, Kotoko secured a 2-1 victory over the Premier League newcomers, with striker Albert Amoah scoring both goals for the Ghanaian giants.
“Asante Kotoko is very disciplined in terms of organization. They don’t press high but wait for spaces in the opponent’s team and utilize them. They did it to us in the first half, but I realized it and closed that space in the second half,” Agyemang noted.
He added, “Kotoko were able to break our lines. Overall, if they become a bit more potent in attack next season, they can cause a lot of damage to other teams.”
The Porcupine Warriors have undergone significant changes, parting ways with over 20 players and signing 12 new ones after an underwhelming previous season where they finished sixth in the league standings.
The new Ghana Premier League season kicks off on September 6, 2024, with Asante Kotoko set to face Karela United in their opening match.
