Nigerian midfielder Fernando Wisdom Bassey has officially received his work permit, clearing the way for him to play in the Ghana Premier League for Asante Kotoko.
Bassey, who joined the Porcupine Warriors as a free agent, had impressed during pre-season matches but was unable to feature in Kotoko’s opening 1-0 win against Karela United due to delays in processing his work permit.
The 22-year-old midfielder’s debut is now imminent, with all necessary documentation in place. However, Bassey’s first appearance might be further delayed as Kotoko’s upcoming fixture against Nsoatreman has been postponed. This decision was made to allow Nsoatreman more time to prepare for their CAF Confederation Cup clash with Algeria’s CS Constantine.
With his paperwork resolved, Bassey is expected to be available for selection in Kotoko’s next league matches once the schedule resumes.
