Hearts of Oak head coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, has confirmed that defender David Oppong Afranie and attacker Kwabena Boateng will miss the team’s crucial Week 3 fixture against Bechem United in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League.
Speaking in a pre-match interview with Hearts TV on YouTube, Ouattara revealed that while most of his squad is fit, Afranie and Boateng are sidelined due to injuries. However, he expressed optimism about their recovery.
“The serious injuries we have are Afranie and Kwabena Boateng. Afranie started working yesterday, so we are happy because we initially thought it was a ligament problem.
We expect him back in a few weeks, and Kwabena as well—not for the next match, but soon,” Ouattara stated.
Hearts of Oak, yet to secure a win this season, will face Bechem United on Sunday, September 22, at 6 p.m. at the Legon Sports Stadium.
Coach Ouattara is determined to guide his team to their first victory of the season, aiming to bring relief to anxious fans.
