Nsoatreman Football Club’s dream of reaching the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup for the first time was halted by Algerian side CS Constantine on Sunday.
Having lost the first leg a week ago at the Accra Sports Stadium, the MTN FA Cup winners were hoping to turn things around and follow the steps of Dreams FC, who made history by reaching the semi finals in their maiden appearance.
But things didn’t go as expected after suffering another painful defeat in Algeria to the North African side.
Zakaria Benchaa’s first half strike proved to be the decisive moment in a match that saw few clear-cut opportunities at the Stade Hamlaoui Constantine.
With 3-0 aggregate scoreline, the Algerian giants have cruised to the money zone of the competition.
Elsewhere, Nsoatreman FC will now shift their attention to the Ghana Premier League following their their elimination.
