Berekum Chelsea and Asante Kotoko battled to a 1-1 draw at the Golden City Park on Sunday, as both sides continued to search for consistency in their Ghana Premier League campaigns.
Kotoko started the game in explosive fashion, taking the lead just three minutes in. Midfielder Kyei Dwamena made no mistake in converting a well-placed cut-back from Dauda Saaka, putting the Porcupine Warriors ahead early.
Despite Kotoko’s dominant start, Berekum Chelsea fought their way back into the game, and their persistence paid off in the 60th minute. Captain Fuseini Zakaria latched onto a loose ball and calmly slotted home to bring the hosts level.
With the draw, Kotoko have now gone two games without a win, following their opening-day victory over Karela United. Similarly, Berekum Chelsea, whose only win of the season also came against Karela, remain without momentum as both teams continue to struggle for form.
Asante Kotoko will turn their attention to an outstanding fixture against Nsoatreman on Wednesday, while Berekum Chelsea are set to face Young Apostles in their next league outing.
