Asante Kotoko stunned Nsoatreaman FC in their outstanding game on Wednesday afternoon at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium.
The game was originally scheduled for the Matchday two games of the ongoing 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season but due to Nsoatreman’s participation in the CAF Confederation Cup, the game was rescheduled. After a goalless first half, the Porcupine Warriors broke the deadlock through Elvis Kyei Baffour on the 47th minute.
The home side continued their dominance but failed to increased their lead. However, Yaw Preko’s side ended the game with 10 players after Daniel Amoo was sent off on the 78th minute for a second yellow card offense.
The win has propelled Asante Kotoko to the second spot on the league log with 8 points after four games while Nsoatreman FC sit 15th with three points. The other outstanding game between defending champions, FC Samartex and Bibiani Gold Stars at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena ended 1-1.
Emmanuel Mamah broke the deadlock for the home side in the 22nd minute before Kelvin Oppong equalized in the 75th minute.The Matchday 5 games have been scheduled to kick off this weekend at the various stadia.
