Ghana has discovered its opponents for the first round of the 2024 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers following a draw conducted at the CAF headquarters in Cairo on Wednesday afternoon.
The Black Galaxies will kick off their 2025 CHAN Qualifiers with a home match against regional rivals Nigeria, as determined in the draw held in Egypt. This tournament is exclusively for players competing in their domestic leagues.
The upcoming CHAN competition will take place in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, scheduled from February 1 to 28, 2025. This uniquely designed CAF tournament is set to showcase the talent of locally-based players across the continent.
A total of 40 nations will participate in the qualifiers, which will unfold in two rounds to determine the final teams for the eighth edition of the tournament. The first leg of Ghana’s matchup against Nigeria is scheduled for December 20-22, 2024, with the return leg set for December 27-29, 2024.
The first round of qualifiers will occur over the weekend of October 25-27 and November 1-3, 2024, while the second round is confirmed for December 20-22 and December 27-29, 2024.
