In a surprising turn of events, two Asante Kotoko players have disappeared in the United States just days before their scheduled participation in the Capital City Africa Cup against Major League Soccer side D.C. United.
The missing players, AbdoelKarem AbdoelRahman Yoouef Yagoub and Esmat Abdalhamid, left the team’s hotel on Friday, October 11, and have not been seen since.
Asante Kotoko officials have confirmed that they are unable to account for the whereabouts of the Sudanese players. The team immediately notified authorities, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has been involved in the case. Despite efforts to locate the players, their disappearance remains unresolved.
