Asante Kotoko has proposed a three-year contract extension to their first-choice goalkeeper, Frederick Asare, Ghanasportspage.con can confirm.
The Black Stars shot-stopper, whose current contract is set to expire in August 2025, has been a key figure in Kotoko’s defense since joining the club from Accra Lions in 2022.
Asare has been in impressive form during the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season, playing in four matches and recording three clean sheets, while conceding just one goal.
His strong performances have solidified his place as one of the top goalkeepers in the league.
The proposed contract extension would see Asare remain with the Porcupine Warriors until at least 2028, further securing Kotoko’s goalkeeping department for the foreseeable future.
His commanding presence in goal has been vital to Kotoko’s unbeaten start to the season, and the club is eager to retain his services as they aim for domestic success.
If the deal is finalized, Asare will continue to be a key player for Kotoko, bringing stability and experience to the team as they pursue another Ghana Premier League title.
