Hearts of Oak captain Benjamin Asare is optimistic about the team’s progress in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season, citing noticeable improvements in their performances.
Currently sitting ninth on the league table with nine points, the Phobians have secured two wins in their opening seven matches, leaving them six points adrift of the top spot.
Despite struggling to convert draws into victories, Hearts of Oak is enjoying a five-game unbeaten streak. Asare, who joined the club at the beginning of this season, emphasized that the team has made significant strides compared to the previous two campaigns, where they narrowly escaped relegation on the final day.
Following a goalless draw against Dreams FC on Sunday, Asare addressed the fans, urging them to remain patient with the squad. “What I have to tell the fans is to be patient with the team. It is not every game that we can win.
They should expect more victories from us,” he stated. He added, “If you watch the games that we have played, you’ll realize that we have improved. And football too, it is not every day that will go your way.
”Hearts of Oak will aim to continue their positive trajectory as they prepare to host Bibiani GoldStars on Sunday at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in match week eight.
