Veteran football administrator Alhaji Grusah has alleged that he was asked by former GFA Executive Council member George Amoako to pay half of an appearance fee in exchange for King Faisal’s league survival.
According to Grusah, Amoako who was the CEO of the club told him that without the payment, King Faisal would face relegation.
Speaking on Akoma FM, Grusah shared, “I was asked by George Amoako, who was an Executive Council member, to bring 50% of the appearance fee or else King Faisal would be relegated”
Grusah alleged that he also demanded a repayment of his money after he discovered that he was the only member asked to make such a payment.
“However, when the club was ultimately relegated, I went back to retrieve my money because the promise was not kept.”
Grusah’s claim sheds light on alleged internal pressures he faced as a club owner, raising questions about the transparency of league operations in Ghana.
The veteran administrator’s comments have sparked further discussion among football stakeholders regarding the integrity of Ghanaian football governance.
