Ghana head coach Otto Addo has named a 25-man squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sudan.
The team sees the return of key midfielder and captain, Thomas Teye Partey who missed last month’s qualifiers against Angola and Niger due to sickness.
In a notable inclusion, FC Samartex left-back Isaac Afful has earned his second call-up following standout performances in the CAF Champions League preliminary rounds and the ongoing Premier League.
Also, Asante Kotoko midfielder and Nations FC defender, Razak Simpson has earned their maiden call-ups.
Olympique Lyon forward Ernest Nuamah and Atalanta’s Ibrahim Sulemana have also been named in the squad for the qualifiers.
The Black Stars will resume their qualifier later this month against Angola and Niger in the final round of games as they aim to qualify for the 2025 tournament in Morocco against all odds.
They will travel to Luanda to face Angola on November 15, followed by a home match against Niger Republic three days later.
Ghana must win their games and hope Sudan lose against Niger and Angola to be able to qualify for the tournament.
