Former Asante Kotoko player Saddick Adams has expressed his dissatisfaction with coach Prosper Narteh Ogum, suggesting that he should focus on lecturing rather than coaching.
His comments come in the wake of Kotoko’s 1-0 loss to Bechem United in Week 10 of the Ghana Premier League, marking the club’s third consecutive defeat this season after also losing to Legon Cities and Heart of Lions.
Taking to social media after the match, Adams revealed that he previously believed in Ogum’s capabilities but is now questioning his effectiveness as a coach.”I thought they said he is a good coach.
Last season did not go well, and this season too? I can’t deal with Doctors or Professors who are coaches. Those coaches talk like they are teaching in school,” he stated.
Adams further suggested that Ogum should consider focusing on teaching rather than coaching, emphasising that there is a significant difference between lecturing and managing professional players.”Coaches who are lecturers should lecture in school and stop coaching.
It is different lecturing in school and dealing with players. Lecturing players will not work because they are professionals,” he added.Asante Kotoko’s recent struggles have seen them drop to sixth place in the league standings with 15 points.
The team will be looking to bounce back in their next fixture against Nations Football Club as they aim to regain form and confidence under Ogum’s leadership.
