Former GHALCA Chairman J.Y. Appiah has issued a rallying cry to Ghanaian football clubs, urging them to overcome fears of victimization and act in the best interest of the sport.
Appiah called for a unified stand among clubs to pass a vote of no confidence in Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku. In a bold statement, Appiah emphasized that leadership accountability is essential to reviving Ghanaian football.
“Fear of victimization must not hold us back from doing what is right for our football,” he stated. “The clubs should unite and pass a vote of no confidence in GFA President Kurt Okraku,” he said in an interview with Oyerepa Sports.
This call comes amidst growing concerns about the GFA’s governance under Okraku’s leadership, with critics citing issues like declining performance in domestic competitions and the Black Stars’ struggles in international tournaments.
Appiah’s comments are expected to ignite debate within the football fraternity, as stakeholders deliberate the future direction of Ghanaian football leadership.
