Asante Kotoko striker Albert Amoah remains confident about his place in the team despite the return of former fan favorite Kwame Poku.
Poku, 27, has rejoined the Porcupine Warriors on a two-and-a-half-year deal after enduring challenging spells in Algeria and Morocco. The forward originally left Kotoko in 2021 after an impressive run of six goals in 16 Ghana Premier League matches to join USM Alger.
However, he struggled for consistent game time and later moved to Olympique Khouribga in Morocco, where injuries and the club’s relegation hindered his progress.
Now back at Kotoko, Poku’s arrival signals heightened competition for Amoah, who has been a standout performer since signing from Great Olympics during the summer transfer window.
However, Amoah welcomes the challenge, focusing on the collective success of the team. “I am not afraid of competition.
I do not fear his (Kwame Poku’s) arrival. At the end of the day, it is the team that benefits. If I do not score, he can score
