Depay, who currently plays for Brazilian powerhouse Corinthians, is spending the Christmas holidays in Ghana. His visit includes several activities, including charity work, but he took time to connect with the Porcupine Warriors during their training session at Adako Jachie.
In a video shared on Kotoko’s social media channels, the former Manchester United and Barcelona forward was seen mingling with the players, sharing words of encouragement as they prepared for the pivotal match.
“My eyes are now on the team. Now, I’m involved, let’s get to the next level,” Depay said, rallying the team. He also emphasized the importance of securing three points in the encounter.
The game, scheduled for Friday at the Baba Yara Stadium, is a critical matchday 15 fixture in the Ghana Premier League. Both teams are pushing for a strong finish to the season, with Kotoko seeking to close the gap on their opponents.
Asante Kotoko currently sits 5th on the league table with 24 points, while Bibiani GoldStars occupy 2nd place with 27 points. The clash is expected to be fiercely contested as both sides vie for maximum points to bolster their title ambitions.
