Asante Kotoko head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has commended striker Kwame Opoku for his smooth reintegration into the team following his return to the club.
Opoku marked his comeback with a goal on his debut, helping Kotoko secure a 2-0 win over Bibiani Gold Stars at the Baba Yara Stadium. In a post-match interview, Dr. Ogum praised Opoku’s natural talent and ability to quickly bond with his teammates.
“I’m not surprised because in terms of natural talent, he has it already, and he’s been able to now use this natural talent to integrate himself into the team,
” Dr. Ogum stated. “He’s bonded very well, and I think it’s good for us.”Opoku’s goal against Bibiani Gold Stars was his first since rejoining Kotoko after a two-year absence.
He previously played for the club during the 2020-21 season, scoring seven goals in 16 Ghana Premier League appearances.
With Opoku’s return and his immediate impact, Kotoko has risen to second place in the league standings, signaling a promising future for the team.
