Ghanaian-born Nigerien striker, Daniel Sosah has boldly disclosed that he was not given the opportunity to represent Ghana at the national level due to financial issues.
Born in Ghana to a Beninese father and Ghanaian mother, the FC Kryvbas striker was eligible to play for the Black Stars and the Cheetahs but decided to play for Niger in 2021.
However, speaking in an interview with Accra-based Mothers FM and Mothers Tv on Monday, the 26-year-old attacker shockingly revealed that his decision to switch nationality follows his failure to pay for a place in Ghana’s U-23 national team in 2020.
“I didn’t get the opportunity to play for Ghana because they were requesting something I couldn’t offer. I was in my early twenties, and it was the Under 23 national team [Black Meteors] in 2020. I was playing in Guinea at that time, and my stats were presented to them, but one of them spoke to me to offer them something before. It was financial, they asked me to pay something before. My management spoke with the person in French and but I spoke to him in twi,” he stated.
Sosah currently plays for Kryvbas FC in Ukraine. He joined them in 2023 after parting ways with Isloch in Belarus, where he was among their top players before deciding to seek a new adventure.
