Former Ghana Football Association spokesperson, Saani Diarra has shared his comments on Accra Lions’s bold statement released yesterday, 6th January 2025 about poor development of the way Ghana Football Association is being run by current administration led by President Simon E.S Okraku.
Below is the full statement made by Saani Diarra:
“I stand with Accra Lions. For the first time in 20 years, I shed tears at 1am today when I saw highlights of Dreams FC v Accra Lions.
At first hand, I know the millions of dollars Accra Lions have invested in Ghana football and the millions of dollars they continue to invest – from the stadium in Abokobi, the academy, the players, the young talents in the academy, the coaching staff and the auxiliary staff. And to watch this being destroyed in this cruel manner was too painful for me to watch.
Over the years, this has happened and persistently privately I have begged (sometimes kneeling down) for patience from the Accra Lions team.
But from what I saw, I couldn’t sleep watching their investment being wasted. I am a human being, I have got a soul”. He posted it on SWAG’s official WhatsApp platform
Accra Lions has played 16 matches of the ongoing Ghana Premier League with just 13 points sitting on 17th of the league log.
