Legon Cities are working to strengthen their squad ahead of the Ghana Premier League’s second round and have reportedly opened talks with former Asante Kotoko winger Emmanuel Gyamfi during the ongoing January transfer window.
The 30-year-old brings a wealth of experience in the Ghanaian top flight, having spent five successful years at Asante Kotoko between 2016 and 2021. Gyamfi, who captained the Porcupine Warriors at one point, played a pivotal role in their 2017 FA Cup triumph and is remembered for his versatility and leadership on the pitch.
Following his departure from Kotoko, Gyamfi joined Aduana Stars, where he made 25 league appearances last season, contributing five goals and two assists before parting ways with the club.
Currently, a free agent, Gyamfi is eager to return to competitive football, and sources suggest Legon Cities are intensifying efforts to secure his signature. Negotiations between the player and the club are said to be progressing, with an agreement expected soon.
This potential signing would boost Legon Cities’ attacking options as they aim to improve their league position in the second half of the season.
