Asante Kotoko Head Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum has expressed his delight over the signing of former Simba FC defender Kwasi Asante, emphasizing the player’s quality, versatility, and experience.
The Porcupine Warriors have been in need of reinforcements at left-back, with Patrick Asiedu being the only recognized option in that position since October last year.
Addressing the club’s decision to bolster the squad, Coach Ogum highlighted Asante’s ability to play multiple roles, which he believes will be a significant asset to the team.
“Everyone knows we’ve been playing with just one recognizable left-back in Patrick Asiedu since October last year, and it was essential to strengthen that area,” Ogum stated.
“Kwasi brings both quality and versatility to our squad. His ability to play multiple positions adds depth to the team, and his wealth of experience will undoubtedly benefit us in key moments.”
Asante’s arrival is expected to provide much-needed competition and depth as Kotoko aims to strengthen its squad for the challenges ahead.
The 29-year-old has signed a one-and-a-half-year will run until 2026.
