Medeama Sporting Club has confirmed the appointment of Coach Ibrahim Tanko on a two-and- half year contract.
The UEFA licence A holder has completed formalities and replaces technical director Augustine Evans Adotey, who reverts to his original role.
The former Ghana International is one of the most exciting coaches and brings wealth of experience, standards of excellence, leadership qualities and character to the club.
Nicknamed the ‘Bullet’, Tanko joins the Mauve and Yellow after leaving Premier League side Accra Lions where he served as a coach and technical advisor.
The former Borussia Dortmund star is one of the experienced trainers in the country having worked in Japan’s J League and the Bundesliga.
He was also an assistant coach of Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions as well as Ghana’s Black Meteors and Black Galaxies.
He will watch the team’s training session on Wednesday January 29, 2025, at the Akoon Community Park before he takes full charge on Thursday.
Tanko will face off against Legon Cities in his first match for the club on Sunday February 3, 2025, at the TnA Stadium.
