Otto Addo, John Pantsil and Fatawu Dauda have retained their positions within the Black Stars’ technical team following the latest restructuring by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
Otto Addo, the former Black Stars player is continuing his job as Black Stars head coach after he guided Ghana to fail at 2025 AFCON.
Pantsil, the former Black Stars defender, continues as an assistant coach, while Dauda, a former international goalkeeper, remains the team’s goalkeeping coach.
German-Moroccan tactician Joseph Laumann, who was also an assistant has been sacked and replaced by Ghana U20 head coach Desmond Ofei.
The Ghana Football Association are making the changes to the technical staff following the Black Stars’ failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, taking place in Morocco later this year.
Their retention highlights the GFA’s confidence in their contributions to the national team. Pantsil’s extensive playing experience and growing reputation as a coach have been pivotal in enhancing the team’s defensive organization.
Similarly, Dauda’s efforts in developing the goalkeeping department, particularly his mentorship of young talents, have earned widespread appreciation.
Both have become integral to the Black Stars’ technical setup, offering much-needed continuity and stability.
Their roles will be crucial as the team gears up for upcoming tournaments under the revamped technical leadership, notably, the 2026 World Cup qualifiers which continues in March with matches against Chad and Madagascar.
