Former Ghanaian international Sam Johnson “Foyoo” has expressed his concerns over the level of commitment of Black Stars players.
Foyoo’s concerns follows the team’s failure to qualify for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Morocco.
The four-time champions will now seek to redeem themselves in their subsequent games in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers where they will face Chad, Mali, Comoros and Central African Republic.
“Nobody can tell me that our current players are not good. Nobody can tell me that. We’ve been seeing them week by week at the club level, but one thing they have to know is that if you know you can’t risk your leg for the Black Stars, stay away, and Ghanaians will be okay.
Ghanaians don’t have a problem with you because you chose to do this, but if you come and you are playing like there is nothing at stake… they play like Africans when they are playing outside, and it doesn’t work like that,” Sam Johnson told Sporty FM.
Ghana will continue their journey in the World Cup qualifiers next month as they hope to beat Chad and Madagascar to keep their hopes of making to the world’s prestigious competition.
