Abednego Tetteh’s time at Heart of Lions has come to an abrupt end after his controversial remarks about the Ghana Football Association (GFA) sparked tension between him and the club.
The former Hearts of Oak and Bechem United forward has officially terminated his contract, announcing his immediate departure in a statement released on March 4, 2025.
Tetteh found himself at odds with the club after calling for an investigation into the GFA and suggesting that the government should take control of the league.
“The government should cancel the league and sack everyone at the FA. They should be investigated, and the government should manage the league,” he said in an interview with Lawson TV/FM.
Heart of Lions quickly distanced themselves from his comments, leading to the dissolution of his one-year contract signed in 2024.
