The China Circles 0086 Chairman of Asante Kotoko, Mr Thomas Kojo Eduku, has expressed his desire for the club to hold their pre-season preparations in China should they emerge as Ghana Premier League champions this season.
Eduku stated that the China Circles will lease with the Interim Management Committee (IMC) to make arrangements for a fully funded pre-season in China for the start of the next season.
“We want Kotoko to have pre-season in Ghana if they win the league. We will talk with the management and come up with how we will get the team to do their pre-season here in China.” He told Dokk TV.
This statement comes at a time when Asante Kotoko are battling for the Premier League title, with hopes of reclaiming their dominance in Ghanaian football. Traditionally,
Kotoko has had pre-season training in various locations, including Dubai, but Eduku’s vision suggests a potential shift in their preparation strategy.
Currently, discussions are yet to take place between the China Circles leadership and Kotoko’s management.
Asante Kotoko lead the table with 38 points with quite a few matches left. They failed to extend their lead at the top following a one-all draw against Samartex on matchday 24.
