Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito has cautioned against underestimating the difficulty of the match, regardless of either team’s form.
Speaking to the club’s media ahead of the showdown, Zito acknowledged the unpredictable nature of Ghana’s biggest football rivalry.
“They are not a bad side, but sometimes a little bit of luck eludes them when they play,” Zito said of Hearts of Oak.
He emphasized that unlike regular league fixtures, games between Hearts and Kotoko are defined more by passion and rivalry than by standings or recent performances.
“I think it’s going to be a difficult game because Hearts and Kotoko are not like other clubs. On Sunday, it won’t be an easy game for either side,” he explained.
Zito, who recently guided Kotoko to a vital win over Aduana Stars, admitted that even as a coach, predicting the outcome of this fixture remains a challenge.
“I know the game will be difficult. With Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, you cannot predict the outcome until the 90th minute,” he concluded.
Kotoko have won the last three matches between the two.
The Porcupines are in the title race and would need a win to close in on Bibiani Golds Stars. Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak who are winless in their last four games, are aiming for a win to get back to winning ways.
