Asante Kotoko have named a strong 23-man squad for their highly anticipated MTN FA Cup final showdown with Golden Kick SC on Sunday, June 16, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
The Porcupine Warriors, led by head coach Abdul Karim Zito, are looking to end the 2024/25 season on a high with silverware and a return to continental football. A win would secure them a ticket to the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup—a major incentive that has heightened the stakes going into this clash.
Kotoko head into the tie as favourites, but they will be wary of a Golden Kick side that has knocked out top-flight opponents such as Karela United and Hearts of Oak en route to the final.
Kotoko’s squad features a solid blend of experience and youthful talent, with key players retained from the season’s league campaign and recent additions included to strengthen the team’s depth.
Kotoko’s defensive unit is led by stalwarts like Patrick Ansu and Michael Sefa, known for their composure and tactical discipline. With the inclusion of younger names such as Samba Oneil and Lord Amoah, Zito will have multiple options depending on the tactical demands of the game.
The midfield will be anchored by the hard-working Andrews Ntim Manu and the technically gifted Justice Blay, while Emmanuel Antwi and Baba Yahaya provide energy and attacking intent.
Leading the line will be Kwame Opoku, who brings experience and finishing prowess, supported by in-form attackers such as Sampson Eduku and Bassey Wisdom. Elvis Kyei Baffour and Saaka Dauda are also capable of making an impact, giving Zito plenty of firepower up front.
