Accra Hearts of Oak have officially reassigned former head coach Aboubakar Ouattara to a new role as Special Advisor to the Board.
The experienced Ivorian tactician, who previously served as coach of the club, will now work directly with the Board of Directors, providing strategic counsel and handling special assignments as part of Hearts of Oak’s broader technical and structural revamp.
Ouattara’s reassignment is seen as a move to retain his football expertise within the club’s hierarchy, even as a new technical team led by Didi Dramani takes charge of first-team responsibilities. The club believes his experience, especially at the continental level, will be vital in shaping long-term planning and decision-making.
This restructuring comes at a time when Hearts of Oak are intensifying efforts to rebuild and return to their competitive best after a challenging 2024/25 season. Ouattara’s advisory role is expected to contribute to both the technical direction and governance side of the club.
