Former Asante Kotoko and Black Stars defender Samuel Inkoom has called for calm following the recent controversy surrounding Justice Blay’s comments about his time at the club.
Speaking to Ghanasportspage.com, Inkoom reminded current and future players of the weight and responsibility that comes with representing Asante Kotoko.
“Kotoko represents the throne Otumfuo sits on. That’s why its reputation is held high. That’s what the players must be aware of before they join the club,” Inkoom emphasized.
Inkoom also appealed for forgiveness on behalf of Justice Blay, who has already issued a public apology for his remarks, acknowledging they were made in the heat of emotion.
“On behalf of him, I plead that he should be forgiven. He has even apologized, which I think everyone should accept. I will advise the players to be careful about their approach to addressing issues like this.”
Justice Blay in his outburst on Pure FM on Friday, July 11, 2025 made shocking revelations about his time at Kotoko, accusing ex-teammate Kwame Opoku of snatching his girlfriend.
The former Medeama player is currently a free agent after terminating his contract with Asante Kotoko at the end of the 24/25 season.
