Congolese defender Samba O’Neil has been crowned Asante Kotoko SC best player of the 2024/25 football season by China Circle 0086, following his splendid campaign.
On the early hours of Saturday, 19th July 2025. The leadership of China Circle 0086 met the players at their training complex, Adako Jachie for the awards event. The sensational center-back came out on top in a three-player shortlisted, fending off the sizeable challenges of Justice Blay and Andrews Ntim Manu for the prize.
In doing so, he amassed 28 votes to that of Ntim 22 and Blay 5.
O’Neil was an integral part of Asante Kotoko SC team in the just ended season, given a good account of himself. He featured more times than any other Kotoko player at the backkine across the season, making the heart of their defence solid.
Samba O’Neil for winning best player of the season, was given a trophy, cash of GHC1,500 and a medal.
His teammate Albert Amoah also won the top scorer(Golden Boot) of the season and offered GHC 1,500 and a medal.
54 medals were also given to all the players including, the youth team and the technical team led by Abdul Karim Zito Kabutey.
On behalf of China Circle 0086, Sylvester Anane did the honour to present the awards. The event saw Asante Kotoko SC Interim Management Committee members Nana Apinkrah, James Kwasi Appiah, Sarfo Duku, Malik Jabir, Sarfo Gyamfi, Owusu Donkoh and Akoto present.
