Asante Kotoko have confirmed the signing of Guinean forward Morifing Donzo on a three-year contract, following the successful completion of his medical.
The transfer is, however, subject to the approval of his work permit.
The 27-year-old joins from Hafia FC and arrives with valuable experience in African club football, having competed in both the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup.
While Donzo is primarily a centre forward, he is also comfortable playing on either wing, offering Kotoko additional attacking versatility ahead of the new season.
Speaking to Kotoko Media, Donzo revealed his long-standing desire to join the Porcupines.
“I was eager to make this move last season, but sometimes football doesn’t go the way you plan. Better late than never. I’ve spoken with Amos Frimpong, who was always convincing me to come. I have also spoken with Mo (Camara) and Joe (Ablorh), and both had nothing but positive things to say about the club. I’m here now, ready to give everything, and make a name for myself in front of these fans.”
The signing is expected to bolster Kotoko’s attacking options as they prepare for the upcoming domestic and continental campaigns.
