Accra Hearts of Oak continued their pre-season preparations in fine style with a solid 3-0 win over Tudu Mighty Jets in a friendly encounter at the Kpobiman training complex on Saturday morning.
The game was played in two halves of 60 minutes each, providing the technical team with extended time to assess the squad and fine-tune their tactics ahead of upcoming competitions.
The Phobians started brightly, dictating the tempo and pressing high up the pitch. Their early dominance was rewarded when one of the players on assessment (name withheld) stepped up and curled home a sublime free-kick to give Hearts the lead, a goal that stood until the end of the first half.
The second half saw Hearts of Oak tighten their grip on the game, controlling possession and pushing for more goals. Their persistence paid off when centre back Ali Mohammed calmly converted from the penalty spot to double the advantage.
The moment of the match came from another player under Coach Didi’s assessment (name withheld) whose dazzling solo run saw him dribble past four Mighty Jets defenders before slotting the ball into the net.
The match ended 3-0 in favour of the Phobians, a result that reflects the team’s growing cohesion and confidence under the new tactical direction.
Preparations continue for the Homowo Cup and the GHALCA Top-4 Tournament, as the team sharpens up for competitive action.
