CAF Media Chief, Ibrahim Saani Daara is throwing his weight over the extension of third term limit for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Presidential position.
Not long, the Ghana Football Association General Secretary Proper Harrison Addo Esq. hinted that amongst items on GFA’s upcoming Congress is the term limit of the Presidency. Looking at the GFA’s regulation thus article 37(4) sanctions any elected GFA boss for a term of two alongside the executive council.
However, the current leadership wants an extension and has already placed on their Congress item.
With the matter getting out of hand by the Ghanaian media, former GFA Communication Director Ibrahim Saani Daara has argued that considering the development of Ghana football and where it has to be, a third term will be an ideal step for any President.
He backed by saying; “If we aim to have a presence within CAF and FIFA, the impact of our FA leadership must be significant and long-term”I am of the firm conviction that for anyone to do well as FA Boss must be more than eight years”
“That won’t happen within just two terms,” -Sannie Daara said.
Meanwhile, Congress is scheduled for August 13, 2025.
News also reaching in confirms, a member of the Association King Faisal FC has secured injunction writ on the proposal to extend GFA Presidential term limit from two to three and has served the football governing body.
