MTN Ghana has been officially announced as the headline sponsor for Ghana’s four national football teams – the Black Stars, Black Queens, Black Satellites, and Black Starlets – in a landmark partnership that marks renewed corporate backing for Ghana football.

The announcement came from MTN Ghana CEO Stephen Blewett, who expressed pride in partnering with the country’s most celebrated sporting brand during the partnership reveal ceremony on Thursday, August 14, 2025, in Accra.

The deal spans the senior men’s team (Black Stars), senior women’s team (Black Queens), the under-20 men’s team (Black Satellites), and the under-17 men’s team (Black Starlets).

Blewett explained that MTN’s decision stems from its long-standing commitment to sports development in Ghana and its belief in football’s power to unite the nation.

“Football is a passion that connects the whole country, and MTN is proud to be part of the journey to take our teams to greater heights,” he noted, stressing that the partnership goes beyond funding to inspiring future generations of Ghanaian footballers.

The sponsorship is expected to deliver crucial financial and logistical support to the teams as they gear up for tournaments and qualifiers.

Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku hailed the move as a “timely boost” that will enhance their competitiveness on both continental and global fronts.

Coming at a pivotal moment for Ghanaian football’s revival, this deal mirrors a growing trend of major brands investing in sports to enhance corporate social responsibility and visibility.

With MTN now joining the ranks of top global companies supporting African sports, fans will be hoping this collaboration turns into tangible success for all four national teams.
