Sudan head coach Kwesi Appiah has urged his players to remain fully focused as they prepare to face Madagascar in the semifinals of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
The veteran tactician, who has guided Sudan to an impressive run in the tournament, stressed that reaching the last four is proof of Madagascar’s quality and warned that the game will be far from easy.
“In modern football you don’t underestimate any team. Reaching the semifinals means they are a very good side, so we have to prepare mentally, tactically, and physically,” Appiah told ghanasportspage.com.
Despite the challenge, the former Ghana coach remains confident Sudan can book a place in the final.
“We have to go in all out and get the win. I think we will be okay but it will never be easy,” he added.
The clash is scheduled for a 14:30 GMT kickoff at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, with the winner securing a spot in the CHAN 2024 final and a chance at continental glory.
