Asante Kotoko captain Samba O’niel has declared his side’s intent to avenge their recent defeat to Bibiani Gold Stars when the two sides clash in the Champion of Champions final on Sunday.
The Porcupine Warriors suffered a setback against Gold Stars in the Top Four competition, but O’niel insists the upcoming encounter offers the perfect opportunity to set the record straight.
“We lost to Gold Stars in the Top Four and we are also coming for revenge in the Champion of Champions on Sunday,” the Kotoko skipper said.
The Champion of Champions match, which traditionally pits the Ghana Premier League winners against the FA Cup champions, is expected to serve as the curtain-raiser for the 2025/26 Ghanaian football season.
With pride and silverware on the line, Kotoko will be eager to make a statement against Gold Stars, who have emerged as one of their toughest rivals in recent times.
