Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has disclosed that the chartered flight arranged to transport the Black Stars to Chad for their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier will cost the state approximately $300,000.
The Member of Parliament for Buem constituency revealed in an interview with JoySports.
“Charted flight for Black Stars World Cup qualifier against Chad is about $300,000,” he said.
The revelation comes amid heightened discussions over the national team’s expenditure, with the Sports Ministry slashing the Ghana Football Association’s proposed budget for the match from $1.2 million to $841,290.
Despite cuts in bonuses and incidental allowances, the chartered flight allocation was left untouched, given its importance to the team’s travel logistics.
The Black Stars are scheduled to face Chad on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno in N’Djamena.
Ghana leads the group with 15 points after six games, while Chad sits bottom without a point.
