The Ministry of Youth and Sports has further slashed the Black Stars’ budget for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifier against Chad by removing a GH₵58,000 ($5,000) allocation intended for fuelling the team’s bus.
The budget line, proposed by the Ghana Football Association (GFA), was struck out as part of the Ministry’s cost-cutting measures ahead of Thursday’s crucial fixture in N’Djamena.
This latest adjustment follows a broader budget review that saw the total expenditure reduced from an estimated $1.2 million to $841,290, with significant cuts made to bonuses and incidental expenses.
Despite the financial adjustments, the Black Stars are expected to arrive in Chad fully prepared for the match at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno, where they will look to maintain their unbeaten run in the qualifiers.
Ghana currently tops the group with 15 points after six matches, while Chad sits bottom with no points.
