Accra Hearts of Oak have rejected an official bid from a Saudi Arabian club for Black Stars goalkeeper Benjamin Asare.
The unnamed Gulf side reportedly tabled a $250,000 transfer fee for the shot-stopper, who has been in fine form for both club and country.
However, Hearts of Oak swiftly turned down the proposal, insisting that the 32-year-old remains a key figure in their squad.
Asare, who recently cemented his place as Ghana’s first-choice goalkeeper in the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, has attracted growing interest from clubs abroad following his consistent performances.
Sources indicate that Hearts of Oak value the player far higher than the amount offered and are unwilling to part ways with him unless a substantially improved bid is presented.
The Phobians will rely heavily on Asare as they begin the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season, with their campaign opener against Hoehoe United scheduled for this weekend.
