Bibiani GoldStars FC earlier this week confirmed parting ways with their head coach Stephen Frimpong Manso after just a week into the 2025/26 league season.
The sack came in as a surprise to the public especially the media, having observed the closure performance of Frimpong Manso leading up to the 2024/25 league title. Manso clinched last season’s Premier league title for the Miners to write his name into the history books as first manager to achieve that with the Bibiani outfit.
However, his moments got cut short after stepping foot into Africa.
Manso guided Bibiani GoldStars FC to the 2025/26 CAF Champions league as a result of winning the league. However, his first game, was very abysmal and after a day his sack hit the media.
Hence, many attributing it to his poor performance against JS Kabylie in the first preliminary round game of the Champions league but Chief Executive officer (CEO) of the club Kwasi Adu says, no!
Nobody should apportion Manso’s sack to his 2-0 defeat to JS Kabylie at the Accra Sports stadium, revealing GoldStars is not interested in Africa.
“We are not so much interested in Africa, and nobody should attribute Frimpong Manso’s sacking to the JS Kabylie defeat,” Adu told Akoma FM.
Adu insisted the board had already made its decision before their game against the Algerian outfit.Bibiani GoldStars FC earlier this week confirmed parting ways with their head coach Stephen Frimpong Manso after just a week into the 2025/26 league season.
