Former Ghana international Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has urged calm and patience over Black Stars coach Otto Addo’s performance, insisting the statistics do not reflect poor work.
Speaking to Asempa FM, the U-20 World Cup winner acknowledged that while there is room for improvement, Addo deserves the chance to prove himself in Ghana’s upcoming fixtures.
“I’m not the one who appointed him, but every work each person is doing, they want to succeed. The coach, too, wants to succeed in his work with the Black Stars,” Badu said.
“I don’t think the stats show that he has done badly. There is more room for improvement. Let’s wait and play the two matches. There’s more time to deliberate on his future after.”
Otto Addo has already named a 24-man squad for Ghana’s decisive 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against the Central African Republic and Comoros.
The Black Stars will face Central African Republic at the Stade d’Honneur de Meknes in Morocco on Wednesday, October 8, before hosting Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, October 12.
Victory in either game would secure Ghana’s spot at next year’s World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
